Investing in Bordeaux

The Bordeaux vineyard extends over 120,000 hectares in the Gironde departement. This vineyard is the largest appellation contrôlée in France, and each year produces more than 750 million bottles.

Numerous qualitative and geographical appellations share the market. First of all, the generic appellations of Bordeaux, Bordeaux Blanc sec, then Bordeaux supérieur, Bordeaux Clairet, Bordeaux Rosé, Crémant de Bordeaux. Then, numerous regions: the Entre Deux Mers, the Fronsadais and Libournais, Saint Emilion, Pomerol, and also the regions of Bourgeais du Blayais, the Graves, Sauternais and finally the Médoc which like each of its previous appellations is known under several identities, such as Médoc, Haut-Médoc, Moulis, Listrac, Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe.

Three wine varieties predominate: Cabernet-sauvignon, Cabernet-franc and Merlot; these are completed by the petit Verdot and the Malbec. The Château’s essence lies in this extensive collection of wines produced from different vine varieties within a same terroir.
